Durham, NC native, Ronnie Weed ran cross country in college however he stopped for a bit because he wasn’t enjoying it. Then after a brief hiatus he has returned to his love of running with all new goals and a different set of reasons to run. At the finish of the 2011 Umstead Trail Marathon Ronnie had successfully completed his 28th Marathon. He finished sixth in the race and has completed Umstead nearly every year the race has been in existence.
Off camera, Ronnie mentioned he enjoys tackling distances greater than the marathon as he competes 40 milers regularly as well as the 50K distance. He definitely favors the trail races as opposed to the road races when it comes to longer distances.
